Hello Carlsbad, Hello Mexico

This has been an absolute whirlwind for me and my family.  Turning 40, two trips to Mexico and its only natural for me to feel gratitude at such a bountiful life.

July rang in with a bang, America's birthday and my 40th year here on Earth.  When I reflect back on the years, the adventures, and the life I have made,  its hard for me not be gracious.  I think about my early childhood and all the wonderful life my hardworking, single mother provided me.  Growing up in a little seaside town outside of Boston, she made it a point to expose me to Art and Culture, among her eclectic friends.  We always ate at decadent restaurants and sampled food from many cultures.

Being a part of Macaroni Kid has afforded me similar opportunities.  My zest for travel and love of trying new foods and adventures allows me to gravel in these pleasures.  When presented to travel to Lorreto, located in Baja California, just a short plane ride from Tijuana, alone with my Teen, I of course jumped at the opportunity.  Our getaway was short but rich with adventure, relaxation and the perfect backdrop for a Mother Daughter getaway.  Read along here and feel free to email me (erikav@macaronikid.com) if you have any questions.

Next stop on our my July adventures, led me to Riviera Nayarit, just a short distance North from Puerto Vallarta.  Known for its diverse culture, quaint seaside towns and bountiful Rainforest, this region is abundant with Mexican Culture.  Learning to make Mole, visiting a Community Center for Children and relaxing at the resort describe just a few of my adventures.  Stay tuned for my complete review in next weeks newsletter!
