The Founder: Michelle Bartok is a visionary and leader in the beauty industry. She founded Innovative Body Science in 1986, and because of her creative sagacity in the beauty industry, Michelle was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 by Beauty Industry West, a nonprofit association founded in 1989 as an educational and networking organization for the west coast beauty industry.
After servicing top hotels and spas in the nation, Michelle went to pursue her own dream: a lifestyle spa. All of the years working behind the scenes in formulas for beauty products, Michelle envisioned the need for a holistic approach to beauty. Apotheque Lifestyle Spa sprouted from the idea of ancient wisdoms; Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Aromatherapy. Natural remedies we can easily incorporate in our daily routines through bath&body and facial products; and fragrance & essential oils.
The Building: The historical brick wall building is in a charming location in downtown Oceanside. The property was built in 1886, it used to be a Bunker’s Hotel, a shoe store, and even hosting offices for the City of Oceanside. It all fits together, the energy of the building, the natural remedies we infused in products we use every day, and the innovative spirit that emanates from Michelle’s vision. The modern Apothecary exists in Apotheque; members and guests can answer a questionnaire to learn more about their constitution according to Chinese Medicine or Ayurvedic Medicine, go to our Custom Blends Bar and create a unique bath & body product to support health and wellbeing for body, mind and spirit.
The Brand: We believe true healing only happens when body, mind and spirit are connected. Ancient wisdoms have taught humanity about the power of herbs, natural remedies and meditation. We are your guide towards conscious daily choices. The Apotheque team wants to share these wisdoms - so we create weekly workshops to teach and inspire us all to choose actions that will improve our body, mind and spirit connection. We also believe in the power of community, and we understand the importance of social support in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. So we created free Acupuncture Meditation classes, and we are in the process of opening the Apotheque Wine Lounge - a place for healing stories to come together, and raise the vibration of the Oceanside community. And finally, we truly believe in the effectiveness of holistic healing therapies to create a balanced body, mind and spirit connection. We combined our innovative spirit with holistic healing passion to improve our offerings and enhance our ability for holistic healing.
