My Journey 💪 The 6 Week Challenge at Anytime Fitness Carlsbad

Every few months I get this idea that I am going to “get fit”  However, usually when I walk into into any gym, the anticipation, the fear of the unknown runs chills down my back. The loud music ,the sweaty people yelling is an automatic turn off for me and typically I run as fast as I can back out the front door.  The fear of not belonging, the fear of the hard work that comes with “getting fit”

Last year this cute, purple logo-ed gym opening up in my neighborhood and I was in one of those moods again.  I think is, I was an athlete more than half my life before I had kids.  But you know how that is, some of us get married, have kids and really all we can manage is the household and the day to day task.  So we think.  “Being Fit” as I am learning is a state of mind.  It’s a choice and anyone, as my new friends at Anytime Fitness tell me, can do fit it into their schedule.

So, I took the leap…

I accepted the 6 week challenge at Anytime Fitness, right up the road from my house, my command center.  The challenge has simple rules:

  • Attend 3 Kick Ass Bootcamps per week
  • Weigh in once per week
  • Eat a well balanced meal plan
  • Check in on FB everyday


First Week Recap:

So far so good.  In my first week, I have managed to complete my challenges.  The classes are upbeat, energetic and to be perfectly honest, there are lots of different people.  To my surprise, the other “challengers” are just like me.  They are moms and dads in the community.  They are twenty, thirty, forty and fifty somethings looking to get fit.  The best part so far for me is the camaraderie.  I love that my fellow challengers are cheering me on, high fiving and understanding.  Our coaches, Seth, Evan, Jennifer and Matt and awesome!  They are kind, hard working and supportive to say the least.
