San Diego County's First Innovative "Luckey Climbers" Play Structure

The Forum Carlsbad

March 14, 2019

The Forum Carlsbad is San Diego County's first location for an innovative "Luckey Climbers" play structure.

Designed by renowned "kid" architect Spencer Luckey, the unique outdoor climbing sculpture is part jungle gym, part work of art and stands at 28 feet tall and is comprised of 25 rotationally molded plastic climbing platforms arranged in a gradient flow consisting of six Pantone matched colors (Creamsicle, Yellow Orange, Yellow, Citron, Pale Sea Foam and Glow-in-the-Dark).

Luckey Climbers are designed to encourage creative play and offer adventure to kids of all ages while challenging them to problem-solve, think spatially, and most of all, to be with other kids.

"We are thrilled to bring this truly unique amenity and play space to The Forum Carlsbad," said General Manager Raj Chandani. These one-of-a-kind climbing sculptures are found at some of the most prestigious locations in the United States, Asia, and Europe such as The Science Center Singapore, The Franklin Institute of Philadelphia, The Hong Kong International School and the W5 Science Center in Belfast.

With the growth of online retail, traditional shopping centers are transforming into modern consumer engagement centers, offering experiences beyond shops and restaurants. Luckey Climbers are family-friendly attractions for shopping centers that keep families coming back.

The Forum Carlsbad's Luckey Climbers play structure will be celebrated with a public Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday March 23 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will feature:
