 Vista Library, Vista- Horror Film Series October 3, 17, 24, 31
Come join us for our annual Horror Film event. Watch a horror film on select Thursdays at 6:00 PM with your friends (or alone if you dare). All films will be PG-13 or lower on the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) rating scale.
10/3 - When there is no light, what lives in the dark?
10/17 - If you are the last human on the face of an Earth controlled by monsters, does that make you a myth?
10/24 - A room where you can check-out anytime you want, but you can never leave.
10/31 - How can you tell that your house is haunted?


Fort Cross Old Timey Adventures, Santa Ysabel- Fort Cross Haunted Harvest October 5, 12, 19, 26, 2019

Special weekend evenings in October at Fort Cross will entail some seasonal spooky fun, if you dare...Activities for your event will include:Pumpkin Seed Spitting Contest, Apple Bobbing Contest (3 person team, bobbing on a string), Harvest Hoedown with Jug Band, Apple Cider Pressing and Tasting and will conclude with the Haunted Hayride.

San Diego Zoo, San Diego- Halloween October 11–13; 18–20; and 25–27
Our popular event is growing this year, filling the last three weekends of October with glowing fun, giggles, and grins. Give Boolahoops a spin, bop to the beat among bubbles, marvel at acrobats, join the cupcake walk, enjoy Halloween sounds, and more.

San Marcos Community Center, San Marcos- Breakfast with the Littlest Pumpkin October 12

Don't miss this yummy pancake breakfast! $5 per person Carnival games for the children are included. Breakfast includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and orange juice or coffee. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.


North County Square, Vista- Family Halloween Event October 12

Two hours of family-friendly Halloween fun on Saturday, October 12 from 11am - 1pm in the PetSmart parking lot near Walmart! Admission is FREE!
Bounce House • Giant Slide • Face Painting • Trunk or Treat Plus raffle prizes…$50 Target Gift Card, $25 Famous Gift Card, Oil Changes from Firestone, T-Mobile goodies, Souplantation muffins, just to name a few!


San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center, Cardiff-by-the-Sea- Not So Scary Estuary October 13

Have a howling good time enjoying the lagoon nature at the 7th annual Not-So-Scary Estuary-Family Fun Days event. Join staff and volunteers for a fun-filled time at our Nature Center. Kids can march in our Halloween costume parade, with prizes for all! The event will include a live bird program, sea life touch tank and a special animal athlete action station for kids. Organic fruit and lemonade will be available at no charge. Free parking and shuttle service is available at Mira Costa College. This event is free and all ages are welcome! Inclement weather may cancel this event. 


 Vista Library, Vista- Literature Comes to Life Halloween Tales October 15
Wear costumes and play different characters in a fun, interactive Halloween story as Literature Comes to Life presents The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything and Big Pumpkin.

The Forum Carlsbad, Carlsbad Halloween Bash with Hullabaloo October 19

Join us for a Spooktacular Halloween Bash at The Forum Carlsbad! We are partnering up with The Teal Pumpkin Project to share awareness regarding Childhood Food Allergies and bringing the community together again for this Festive Family Friendly Event! We will have Spooky Tunes with Hullabaloo, Halloween Crafts, Pumpkin Decorating, Festive Photo Props, Facepainting, Sensory Play, Shopping, Freebies, & More! Bring the family and come celebrate with us while supporting 50 local owned businesses in your community!  We will be decking out "The Luckey Climbers" Playstructure for the kids to enjoy as well! Enjoy Fresh Italian Cuisine from Mangia Mangia, Pumpkins by Jimbo's Naturally, & Sponsored Treats by GoGo Squeez Organics, Little Villager Goods, and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf!

Birch Aquarium at Scripps, La Jolla- Haunted Aquarium Sea Monster Mash October 25-27
Enjoy close encounters with Scripps Institution of Oceanography scientists and search the galleries for unusual underwater creatures rarely seen at Birch Aquarium. Discover a sea of glowing beasts (big and small), get sticky with slime, and enjoy spooky stories, all while boo-gieing down to live music and having a monstrously good time.


Vista Library, Vista- After Hours Halloween Teen Lock-In October 25
Kickoff Halloween with this teens only after-hours program. There will be pizza, crafts, a costume contest, video games, and more. Limited to the first 100 teens. Ages 13-17. Parental permission required, permission slips can be picked up at the library or at event.

The Carlsbad Village Association is pleased to be hosting an afternoon of free, family fun for goblins, ghouls, and princesses of all ages at Halloween in the Village! πŸ‘» πŸŽƒ Safe Trick-or-Treating throughout the Village 🍬🍭🍫Join us in downtown Carlsbad for a variety of entertaining activities, including exciting games by the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad Village, arts and craft fun, a Doggie Costume Contest, safe Trick-or-Treating throughout the Village at participating businesses, and more. The first 750 participants will get a free Trick-or-Treat bag for their goodies.

Balboa Park, San Diego- 10th Annual Halloween Family Day October 26
Enjoy a culturally inspired kickoff to your Halloween festivities at the region’s largest free Halloween carnival. More than 30 participating cultural attractions, community groups, and sponsors present free craft projects for kids, Day of the Dead-themed displays and activities, costume contests, carnival games with prizes, face painting, and live dance entertainment. Participating museums also offer free admission to children 12 and under with paying adult, and more than a dozen gourmet food trucks will be serving up a variety of edible treats.


 San Diego Natural History Museum, San Diego- Halloween Family Day October 26
What lurks in the night? Celebrate bats and other nocturnal creatures at this annual Halloween-themed event. Learn all about nocturnal animals, get a tattoo, and make a bat craft to take home. You can also stop by and visit us on the Prado Walkway as we’ll have a booth set up for the Park-wide Halloween Family Day. Family Days run from 11 AM to 3 PM and are included with paid general admission and free for members.



Mission Marketplace, Oceanside- Halloween at Mission Marketplace October 26
Join us Saturday, October 26 from 11 am - 2 pm for our free Halloween event! Come enjoy family-friendly fun with our insane maze, carnival games, trick or treat bag decorating and more!


Old California Restaurant Row, San Marcos- Halloween Treasure Hunt October 27
Calling all kids, ages 3-12: come in costume, with an adult, and pick up a free Halloween Treasure Map at the registration table in front of Sublime Alehouse. Stop by each restaurant in Restaurant Row to have the map stamped. Return your finished map to the registration area to receive a free Halloween treat bag filled with candy and other goodies!


 Liberty Station, San Diego- Halloween at the Station October 27
Liberty Station invites the community to join us in the North Promenade on Sunday, October 27th for a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration! All ages are encouraged to come decked out in their most elaborate costumes. The daytime festivities will include trick-or-treating throughout the district, live entertainment, a Hollywood car show, and other spooky surprises.

Historic 101 Hwy, Encinitas- Safe Trick or Treat October 31st

This Halloween, The Encinitas 101 MainStreet Association will present its 18th Annual Safe Trick-or-Treat event.  Historic Highway 101(Encinitas Blvd to K Street) will turn into “Pumpkin Lane” as local businesses stay open late to welcome trick-or-treaters.  The public will be invited to see the many amazing pumpkins carved by the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) monks. Along the 101 there are several places to stop and enjoy Halloween-themed activities.  In the Lumberyard courtyard enjoy music and games, and in the SRF parking lot (next to their K Street Store) check out the Queens Court!  Be sure to stop by the E101 office (818 S. Coast Hwy 101) and pick up your complimentary Halloween themed bag provided by presenting sponsor Lazy Acres!
