If your family is anything like mine, everyday you are looking for an activity where you can social distance, have fun with your kids and tire them out! Cardiff Rail Trail is an awesome option. It has a wide path, breeze from the Ocean and the trail is long enough if your looking to get in some decent exercise & let the kids burn some energy!
The trail starts at the Chesterfield/101 intersection in Cardiff by the Sea, CA and stretches North for a few miles. There is plenty of parking at the trailhead and along the first few miles on the East side of the tracks. The trail is in close proximity to shopping, restaurants and the famous Cardiff Seaside Market. Secretly, I love bringing the kids here because not only is is FUN but we can stop for VG's donuts or pick up some Cardiff Crack on the way home to BBQ.
The trail is bike, walking, running and skateboard friendly. There's a fence that separates the trail from the train tracks. It truly is the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of family fun. If you're up for more adventure, you can walk across the street and hit the beach for a walk.
