Easy Homemade "Dole Whip" Recipe

For those craving a healthy, sweet treat

By Sydney Bondarenko June 12, 2024

If you’re anything like my family and me, you crave an ice-cold, sweet treat on a hot summer day. My go-to dessert, whenever I can find it, has always been Dole Whip – that creamy, delicious, pineapple dessert. Unfortunately, it’s often hard to come across, typically available only at theme parks or fairs. So, I decided to try making it myself at home. Would you believe me if I told you that you can whip it up easily, healthily, and in under 10 minutes with minimal cleanup? Spoiler alert: it’s easier than you think, and your taste buds will thank you!

Bonus: Unlike most other recipes online, I won't bore you with my life story before you get to the recipe.

Easy Homemade "Dole Whip" Recipe

2 servings | < 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 1 splash heavy cream (recommended to improve texture)

Make it healthier - I like to substitute sugar with agave, honey, or another sugar substitute.
Make it dairy free - Substitute milk/heavy cream for coconut milk/cream. Makes it taste like a piña colada!
Make it fun - Add in a couple frozen strawberries to make it pink!

Recipe

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. To reach desired consistency, slowly add in additional milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time.
  • Scoop into bowls or cups. If not serving immediately, or to firm up texture, throw into the freezer for 20-30 minutes!
  • Enjoy!
