What a ride we’ve been on Erika! Being part of Macaroni Kid Carlsbad has been quite the adventure. I’ve gained a friend, met a ton of wonderful local business owners and had the opportunity to highlight our sweet seaside town of Carlsbad in all its glory for our readers.
I’m thankful for Erika and all that she has taught me. I have learned and experienced so much and have had a blast doing it. It’s time for me to leave MK and go back to my social work roots. What I will take with me is all my Macaroni Kid friends who believed and supported the website, the great community building events and all the smiles that our Free Craft Wednesday brought all the kiddos and their families.
The Macaroni Kid Carlsbad website is more than a calendar, a newsletter, and marketing tool. It's the execution of the belief that parents can stay connected to their communities with all the challenges and joys that come with parenthood. MK encourages families to be involved in enriching activities offered in and around North County. Through this free online resource, parents are encouraged to come together for a few laughs, common struggles and enjoy their little ones and the City of Carlsbad...together.
Working along side Erika I've realized that there are so many talented local residents that are BIG dreamers and are hell- bent on building something all their own from the ground up. These individuals are passionate about their dreams and diligently work to bring them to fruition. These local business owners chose to be brave, take risks and to share their gifts with us. This community that we call home is better because of them.
I leave you with some of my very favorite stories and articles about the local dreamers I had the privilege in working with.
XO
